For all those who lived through the nightmare of 9/11, horrific images are refreshed.
(05/03/11) Governor Andrew Cuomo says there is heightened security at "critical infrastructure" in New York City and New York State, following the capture and death of Osama bin Laden. In Albany, Karen DeWitt has the details:
Cuomo says he’s stepped up police presence and taken
other precautions at sites considered potential terrorist targets, though there
have been “no credible threats”.
The governor says it’s a day of “complex emotions” for
New Yorkers.
“In one sense joy, because a major threat is gone, a
murderer is stopped and justice is done,” said Cuomo, who says it’s also a day of
reflection on how the events of September 11th, 2001 changed society.
“for all those who lived through the nightmare of 9/11 ,
horrific images are refreshed,” said Cuomo.
Cuomo says the threat of terrorism did not die with Bin
Laden, and he expects to “fight this war” every day that he is governor.
