(06/25/08) Fingerstyle guitarist Neil Fitzgerald, of Potsdam, has crafted his style around intricate, percussive playing and alternate tunings. Last September, he showed up at his UpNorth Music recording session in Plattsburgh with a couple of beautiful custom-made guitars and demonstrated the sonic possibilities of his instrument. After the session he spoke with Jill Breit.

(06/20/08) Folk musician Gary Moon sees his hometown Lake George as more of an authentic Adirondack community than a tourist haven. Not afraid to comment on political issues in his songs, Moon hopes he'll play a positive role in protecting what's best about his community. He spoke with Jill Breit after his UpNorth Music recording session in Lake George last October.

Shu, in a television appearance in Glens Falls
(10/04/07) Ska, a rhythmically up-tempo precursor to reggae, is a strong musical influence on this band's sound. Like most of the bands we've recorded, though, their songs reflect other musical interests. Shu toured the Northeast extensively in the 1990s, mostly performing for university crowds.
